IDMB gave this movie 6/10 Stars, honestly its worth 8. The storyline itself was not bad and the characters personalities were humorous in some parts and serious in other parts, when necessary, as well as the actors who portrayed each character acting was on point. My likes outweigh my dislikes with this movie; The movie being in Hong Kong or based in another country kind of reminded me of rush hour especially in one of the first fight scenes and the ones that followed which was not bad and because of this it kept my attention. The beginning of the movie though confused me at first but later in the movie it made sense, I kind of wish there was bit of a back story at the beginning though to show events leading up to that killing instead of it happening the way it did, also wish there was something put in there of the boy's life growing up after witnessing his dads murder instead of the time skip to him being an adult after it.
Final thoughts: Movie was good, I appreciate the writer and director for making and giving this movie a realistic feel with it involving powers and other abnormal abilities. I only feel as though more could've been added to the beginning to ease viewers into the movie instead of the big time skip so soon and, in the end it would've been nice if there were a part where they all reunited after everything was over; like maybe quick flashes of Cassie (Dakota Fanning) reuniting with her mother and Nick (Chris Evans) reuniting with Kira (Camilla Belle) as like a ‘happy ending’ type of thing instead of the cliffhanger plane scene. Do I feel like a sequel to this movie is needed? No not necessarily, a sequel isn't needed because it seemed like the main person who needed to be out of the way was about to be taken care of in the end unless it went wrong, but we wouldn't know. If it would've ended with the reunion in quick scene flashes, then maybe it wouldn't be a question but because the movie ended on a cliffhanger it had viewers anticipating more but unfortunately, we weren't given that, so the ending sucked in a way. Unless there were a way to continue the plot of the movie without creating the same exact movie but with the same cast starting at the rescue of the mother and taking down the rest of the agency and preventing something like that from happening again, or maybe the plane scene at the end going left instead, a second movie wouldn't have made sense, plus it's been 15 years since this movie was released, I doubt the cast or director and writers are still thinking about this.
